RELEASE NOTES 1.1.5 (2023-12-06)

We’re here with an early Christmas present for you - another Virtuoso update!

What’s inside:

  • Brand new Clustr - the Clustr instrument has been rebuilt from the ground up to make it much easier to play chords and chord progressions. Give it a try, we promise you won’t look back!

  • More instrument effects - the effects panel on the instruments have been updated with new tabs giving you more settings to play with, including volume and distortion!

  • More shrooms - all this music making has brought out more fungal visitors in the Fungi Forest, dancing it out to your tunes!

  • Updated interaction visuals - putting your hands into the instruments now shows a wrist band with your hand tilt, and clearer visuals for what note you are hovering over.

Also, an absolute metric ton of bug fixes! And probably a few new bugs.

Please report any new bugs and issues on our Discord!

RELEASE NOTES 1.1.4 (2023-10-19)

Almost a year to the date since our last update, we are back with a handful of great features and Quest 3 support!
Have fun!

What’s inside:

  • Ableton Link integration - You can now sync the tempo and loops in Virtuoso with other music software that support Ableton Link. You can even sync multiple instances of Virtuoso on the same local network. Perfect for live performances or jam sessions.

  • Real-time tempo change - Now you're able to change the tempo on your whole recorded song! Speed it up and increase the pitch, or slow it down like an old record player.

  • Better Community Library discoverability - We’ve improved the popularity algorithm and implemented more sorting options and time period selection to help players find the best new songs.

  • Quest 3 support - Full support for Quest 3 at 120hz, and improved microphone latency. Additionally, Virtuoso now keeps the player in passthrough if that’s their system setting. You can always change it in the new start screen environment selector.

  • Bug fixes - We've also “beat” numerous bugs, too many to mention here!

Additional notes:
To support new Quest 3 features, we've unfortunately had to discontinue support for the Quest 1, as it no longer works with the latest Meta SDK

Please report any new bugs and issues on our Discord!

RELEASE NOTES 1.1.3 (2022-10-25)

This update focuses on support for the new Quest Pro, with some augmented reality features as well as related goodies!

New features

  • Quest Pro Support - Virtuoso should now run smoothly on the Quest Pro, including using color passthrough!

  • Spatial Anchors - When saving a song, you can now select if you want to keep the positions of instruments and tools relative to your real-life room. Build a virtual studio and have everything stay in the same place!

  • Template Save - You can now set a saved song as your template for new songs. This allows you to bring up your favourite drum setup, sounds and instrument positions every time you start a new project!

  • Custom Colors - To better match the environments and your passthrough view, you can now select interface and instrument colors from the environments tab.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where a loop recording would sometimes instantly stop and overwrite your last recorded track with silence.

  • Fixed an issue where you would sometimes hit things as if you had mallets (drum sticks) despite them not being visible.

  • Various smaller fixes and stability improvements.

Please report any new bugs and issues on our Discord, or on our issue tracker!

release notes 1.0.1 (2022-04-13)

Virtuoso has been out for a month, and we’re ready to deliver the first update! It’s a mixed bag of new features, improvements, graphics and fixes. Enjoy!

What is new:

  • Instrument frames for wHarp, Clustr, Wavemin and the Oorgan! Most instruments now have a cool visual frame that reacts when you play. For purists, it can be toggled off.

  • Fixed issues with drums being triggered when they shouldn't.

  • Reverb and compression drums effects! Empads now have settings for Reverb and Compression, allowing you to lay down some really epic beats.

  • Ability to position spectator camera (PC only). Shroom Cam! Lord Capington III, “Cap” for short, is working the spectator camera.

  • Microphone can now be toggled to always be on, allowing you to record meatspace things that require both hands.

  • Microphone reverb monitoring can now also be turned off, for those who get distracted by hearing their own echo.

  • UI elements and instruments can now be locked in place at the click of a button, so you don’t accidentally move them around.

  • You can now enable “link hands” on the arpeggiator to make both hands add notes to the same arpeggio.

  • Audible metronome: by popular demand, you can now activate this feature to help you keep a better tempo!

  • Faster previews in song library, so you don’t have to wait while browsing for your new favorite song.

  • … plus a bunch of smaller improvements and bug fixes, and likely some brand new bugs!
